Old Bradfieldian Cricket Club - THE BRADFIELD WAIFS
The Bradfield Waifs Cricket Club was founded in 1877. The Waifs play approximately 20 days of good standard cricket (similar to club cricket) each summer. A selected side plays each year in the Cricketer Cup - a 50-over knock-out competition for 32 schools. The Waifs have won this prestigious competition in 1996, 1997, 2005, 2022 and 2024, as well as reaching the final in 1999 and 2002. They also now have an Over 50s team regularly playing in the Over 50 Cricketer Cup tournament.
The Waifs play most of their home matches at the College on Pit, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful grounds in the country. Waifs Week is a highlight of the season, played at Bradfield in early July with a mixture of matches.
