Waifs Week 2026 - It's a wrap!

We have officially reached the final day of Waifs Week 2026. It has been a truly wonderful week on Pit so far, blessed with fantastic weather and an incredible atmosphere on the boundary ropes.

Our sincere thanks go to Bradfield College, who have catered for us excellently throughout the festival. It has also been marvellous to see so many familiar faces and old friends popping by the pavilion to say hello and enjoy the sunshine.

A Surprise Umpiring Cameo and Match Results

A particular highlight of the week occurred during Wednesday evening's fast-paced T20 match against Pelsham. We were delighted to welcome professional cricketer Ryan Higgins down to the ground to watch the action. In a bizarre turn of events, one of our match umpires unfortunately suffered an injury mid-game. Ryan kindly stepped in, with Peter Came, donning the white coat to umpire the remainder of the fixture to the delight of the players and spectators alike.

Match review;

Waifs vs Free Foresters: A fantastic 6-wicket victory to secure the inaugural "Jumbo" Fuller Trophy.

Waifs vs Pelsham (T20): A highly competitive and entertaining short-format evening match.

Waifs vs Pelsham (Declaration): A tough day at the office yesterday, which resulted in a heavy defeat against a strong touring side

George Bryans (G 07-12)
