The Bradfield Waifs turned up in good spirits looking to continue their 2 year unbeaten run in the competition. On a glorious day at Stowe school, without their talisman and Captain, Will Kendall (who was running the marathon in far too quick a time for a 50+ year old), the Waifs pooled together to produce another dominant performance.

Stowe batted first, and after a miserly spell from the opening bowlers, Simon Gammell cashed in and took the first wicket of the Waifs O50 season. Continued tight bowling from the whole bowling attack really put the pressure on Stowe, and it was pressure they weren't able to handle, with wickets tumbling regularly thereafter. The Gammell brothers were in fine form taking 6 wickets between them, with both spinners, Wyatt and Dellor also in the wickets (including both taking a wicket with their first ball!).

In the end Stowe could only post a very modest 93 all out, which given we had been told that their batting was their strong suit didn't bode well for them. Indeed, Lee scored a majestic 50 opening the batting and was ably supported by Bridgman and Kendall, the latter looking more and more Goweresque as the innings went on.

A lovely day out at Stowe and the Waifs machine rolls on to the next round.
