Forthcoming Events in 2021

Speakers, OB Get Togethers - Diary dates for you

It feels like a long time since Shelvin Gumbs (G 07-09) hosted face to face OB Drinks at Nicholsons in Hay’s Galleria in February 2020. We hope that during this challenging year you are all keeping safe and well.

We hosted some very successful 'virtual' events in the autumn which were online. We marked the biennial Tempus Fugit Lunch and also an additional Junior Tempus Fugit Get Together before Christmas meeting with many Bradfieldians over the age of 60, who enjoyed seeing each other immensely. The Carols by Candlelight was filmed in Chapel and recorded for the very first time and shared to rave reviews from those who have watched it all around the world. The current Covid situation is making planning in 2021 challenging, but we are scheduling events and are considering a series of informal evening discussions online we are calling 'Reflections' as an alternative to our virtual drinks online and the next date we have planned for this will be Wednesday 3 March, if you would like to join us.

Last time we met for OB Drinks Online in November we were joined by Jon who lives in Hawaii, so where-ever you are in the World, why not consider joining us for any of our events? Please register here: https://www.bradfieldsociety.org.uk/events

We are also hosting a number of speakers this term who will be talking remotely to the College community and which may be of interest. Some of them are Bradfieldians including:

Jack Blackburn (G 02-07) "Sign of The Times - The Future of Journalism" on Tuesday 23 Feb

James Wallace (F 85-90) "Living in a Hothouse World" on Thursday 25 Feb

Charles Spencer talking about his new history book "The White Ship" on Thursday 4 March and

Charlie Walker (H 99-04) talking about his "Night Fright - WW2 Aircraft Restoration Project".

We hope that you can see something of interest and will make time to reconnect with us and each other again soon.

Spring Matches will not go ahead in March at College. The College pupils who are working off site will not race against the OBs at Bradfield in the Bostelmann Trophy this year. However, we are registered now with Strava and may host the event virtually for runners who would like to take part. Watch out for more details.
