Whilst at Bradfield  in 2001 Adam (H 97-02) climbed Mt Toubkal in Morocco with a College expedition having spent 9 days in the High Atlas mountains to acclimatise alongside Mr Keeley and Mr Burgess. This year he plans to return to Africa to climb Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the London Ambulance charity and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

‘For me, running (and a physical challenge more generally) gives me a strong sense of purpose and a real dopamine hit, but it’s also about proving to myself what I’m capable of. I wasn’t particularly sporty at Bradfield, so that journey has been quite meaningful. It’s also become a very important outlet for frustration and stress, and a way of resetting mentally by being outdoors.’

Adam was impressed when he heard about Bradfield’s plan for an integrated Health and Wellness Centre and the importance the College places on the mental wellbeing of its pupils ‘I’m very happy to endorse the creation of the Health and Wellness Centre – it feels like a genuinely impactful project.’

“This is a challenge that means a lot to me. I'm taking on Kili to raise funds for the London Ambulance Charity and MS Society in honour of my late father. I also want to give back to the local guides and porters who make every climb possible so I've been collecting quality outdoor gear from my friends, and colleagues in the film industry to donate directly to them. Amazingly, I've already reached the target - 23 kg of kit!”
