News

One of the classic Surrey heathland courses, the Worplesdon Golf Club was the perfect venue for this year's Spring meeting of the OBGS. 20 members attended the gathering this year, which is a great opportunity for golfers of all standards to participate and play a couple of friendly matches. In the morning 18 golfers teed off as foursomes for the Wells Cup and in the afternoon 18 competed as singles for the Blunt Salver.

Robert Winder (D 72-76) and James Grant (G 80-85) won the Wells Cups with 39 points, a strong lead over the next pair Ed Sweet (H 05-10) and Thomas McCafferty (A 01-06) at 34 and Matt Ruffell (A 15-20) and Mike Silcock (G77-82) at 31.

Having finished second in the morning's foursomes event, Tom McCafferty went on to win the Blunt Salver in the afternoon with 42 points, shooting a score of 78.

A great day was had by all and the next open-entry event will be the Ruperti Salver on 10 August. OBGS members wishing to participate in this event are required to be members of the Bradfield Society online. Registering online is an easy process - follow the link to The Bradfield Society online, click the link to join and you will be prompted through a short series of verification questions.
