Sale of items from St Andrew's Church begins

First pews go to new homes

News

Just before Christmas 2021, the first 3 pews from St Andrew's Church to be sold by the College were collected by local painter and decorator John Blake, who was himself married in St Andrew's Church. He plans to have them shortened to fit into the homes of his daughters and himself. His niece who runs a floristry business 'Flowers by Helen Elizabeth'  had made contact when the Church itself was first sharing items from the building with locals and generously offered her van to collect the first two pews to be taken from the church since the College bought it. Many of the redundant pews are also going to St Andrew's School and will be used in their school Chapel. Some are also being retained as part of the preservation of the important history of this historic place of worship.

The remaining pews have now been advertised for sale to all Bradfieldians and also to Friends of the College and staff. The College hopes that all the remaining items no longer required by the College before the redevelopment work begins, will go to good homes or businesses and be reused and recycled within the community.
