An evening of Opera on Sunday 25 October

With OB Mark Milhofer (C 81-86)
21 Oct 2020

We are pleased to hear that despite much of Mark's operatic work being cancelled since March, that he will be holding a Livestream Soiree of Tosti on Sunday 25th October at 7.30pm (UK time). This will be an exclusive Tosti programme, including a selection of his songs in English, French and Italian. This is a great opportunity for fans of opera in our community.

The Soiree can be viewed on Mark's website where it will be recorded to view after the event, if you are unable to see it live.

If no new lockdowns are imposed, Mark will be heading to Dijon in November to start rehearsals of a relatively unknown baroque opera by Luigi Rossi, called Il Palazzo Incantato. In this he will play the wizard Atlante who captures Knights and Ladies in his enchanted Palace of Illusions! The performances are in December with more at the end of next year (including 2 at Versailles!!!) More information here:

He is also launching a new double CD of Benjamin Britten's Complete Folk Song settings with piano accompaniment which was recorded with the amazing pianist Marco Scolastra in Italy and will showcase a selection of brand new songs written especially for him by Italian composers:

We have our fingers crossed for Mark and all other OB performers that life soon returns to "normal" and their work can continue unhindered from the current restrictions on everyone.
