A new Bradfield Waifs Cricket team were thrilled to win the first game in the new Over 50s Cricketer Cup against Winchester College recently. They are now in the Semi Final playing against Eton College. The Old Wykehamists scored a challenging 166-8 in their 35 overs, William Drew top-scoring with 51 not out. Ex-Hampshire cricketer, Will Kendall, just the right side of the age barrier, took 4-34. Bradfield made 170-5 in 32 overs in their run chase, James Kendall top scoring with 35. Will Kendall and Peter Came shared an unbeaten partnership of 36 to take them home. Only five teams have entered this year’s competition, but it is hoped that more will join in 2025. Thank you to Rupert Cox (F 81-86) for getting the new Waifs team together.
