First 175 Gala Evening Performers revealed

The 175 Gala Evening on Thursday 26 June will be an all-star cast of Bradfieldian talent from across the generations, 175 Gala Evening Director, Mark Etherington has now released the first details of those who will performing from the alumni community.

Jazz fusion guitarist John Etheridge (C 61-65)

John has been at the centre of the UK jazz and progressive music scene for some 45 years, well known for his eclecticism and wide range of musical associations across musical boundaries. His associations have ranged from duos with John Williams to touring with Space Rock legends Hawkwind. From great jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli to jazz fusion pioneers Soft Machine and from Nigel Kennedy to duo with Police guitarist Andy Summers.

Actor and Singer Eve Niker (K 08–10)

Trained at the Conservatoire of Scotland and awarded the full Andrew Lloyd Webber scholarship, since graduating her credits include a UK and Ireland Tour of ‘The Secret Garden’, three physical solos at Sadler’s Wells, Olivia in an Actor-Musician version of ‘Twelfth Night’ in London and the role of Cassandra in ‘The Women of Troy’ at the International Festival of Ancient Drama. Eve has just written, directed and produced her first play called ‘The Dance Hall’, which played at two London Theatres.

Saxophonist Alex Chadwick (A 04-10)

Since graduating from London's Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Alex performs weekly as a member of the house band at Farringdon's 'The Piano Works' and 'Studio 88' and is the resident saxophonist at the nightclub 'Thirty3Hz' in Guildford. As a side project, Alex co-runs 'More is More', an exciting collaboration of some of the best young instrumentalists of their generation playing their own innovative brand of totally improvised groove music and can regularly be seen playing across London.
