Carols in London in support of The Bradfield Club

It was a joy to gather once again to celebrate the Christmas season with carols and readings at St Gabriel’s in Pimlico. See photos in the gallery below.

This year the service was dedicated to raising funds for The Bradfield Club in Peckham and many thanks to Dan Campbell, Manager of the Bradfield Club for reading the beautiful Christmas (1954) by John Betjeman (1906 - 1984) during the service. The Bradfield Club, started in 1912 by alumni of the College, is a youth Club in Peckham with 500 members aged 4 – 21. As a registered charity, it provides facilities for sports, education, music and mentoring, whilst also offering a refuge from the dangers of the street in a challenging part of London. Over the years, Club members and College pupils have enjoyed activities together and learned from each other’s experience. The current Trustee board is made up of both current parents and alumni and any parents, pupils, alumni interested are always very welcome to visit the Club.

In excess of £400 was raised from the collection, many thanks to all who supported this importance cause.

If you are interested in learning more about The Bradfield Club and how you could be involved do reach out to Chairman of the Trustees, Nick Sansom nick@ncsansom.com or Dan Campbell, Club Manager daniel.campbell@thebradfieldclub.org.uk

Many thanks also to Claire Whitworth nee Pilkington (I 95-97) for reading and to all the members of our community, alumni, parents and friends who joined us for the service. It was great to catch up and enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie with many of you after the service :)
