Family Foursomes Golf 2023

Bumper turnout this year

A bumper turnout for the Family Foursomes Golf at the Bradfield College Golf Course saw people on a waiting list to join the event this year. We had 16 pairs in total on the course, many parents and current pupils, but two Bradfieldians as well, Michael Tyrrell (G 85-90) playing with his mother Jill (a dedicated member of the Bradfield College Golf Club) and Francesca Gillespie-Walker (I 08-10) playing with her father Frank.

The pairs enjoyed sunny conditions on the course and all said how much they enjoyed the round of 9 holes.

Tom Holloway won the prize for "Nearest the Pin in 2" on the 9th hole with a great shot to within a metre of the flag and he and his father Richard had the 'Best Stableford as a Pair' points score of the day of 41. Runners up for the Best Stableford as a Pair were James and Teddy Odoire with 38 points. Tom and Teddy both shared the prize of 'Best Stableford as an Individual' on the day with a points score of 22 each over the 9 holes played.

The prize for Nearest the Pin was won by Alex Milles.

After the play everyone enjoyed match tea with sandwiches and cakes in the Golf Clubhouse and spoke about how much they had enjoyed their rounds. Thank you to Mike Goodwin from the College Golf staff for organising the play and scorecards for the afternoon.

The message for next year is to book early for the event which will fall again in late April 2024. We look forward to having you with us if you can make it.
