Family feel to Family Foursomes Golf

16 pairs enjoyed the beautiful course

The word ‘family’ was the essence of the Bradfield Society Family Foursomes Golf event this year. 16 pairs signed up to take part in the friendly golf tournament including alumni, parents and pupils who all enjoyed a round of golf on the 9-hole college golf course with a shotgun start and following the Stableford rules.

The afternoon saw two fathers of daughters at the college playing together, former pupils returning to play alongside their parents and siblings, parents with their sons and daughters and Bradfieldian and member of college staff James Fox (G 97-02) playing with his 8-year-old son Noah. 2025 leaver Jack Hindley (F 20-25) returned to college to play with friend Griff Beaugeard (D 20-25) alongside his father and brother who is now at the college and Michael Tyrrell (G 85-90) dusted off his clubs to join in alongside his mum Jill Scott-Tyrrell, who plays at the Club regularly.

Prizes included Nearest the Pin won by parent Paul Neville, Nearest the Pin in 2 won by Bradfieldian Griff Beaugeard, Best Combined Stableford Score as a pair won by Bradfieldian contemporaries Rachel Salisbury nee Holloway (K 00-02) and Sam Outram (A 97-02) and Best Stableford Score won by Alex from Loyd house.

The event started in 2014 and continues to be a very popular afternoon allowing the whole Bradfield community to enjoy the golf course and its facilities. Anyone who would like to join the Bradfield College Golf Club is most welcome and will benefit from special rates for the Bradfield community or by speaking with Andrea Kean in the Bradfield College Sports Centre. Thank you to Mike Goodwin for his expertise in organising the play and scorecards for the day and to everyone for coming along to enjoy a sunny afternoon on the beautiful course.
