Obituaries

Patience Thomson, a Former Council Member (1998-2006) and Dyslexia pioneer sadly passed away of natural causes on November 21, 2020 aged 85.

Patience was a remarkable lady who the College were very fortunate to have as a member of Council for a number of years. Coming from a very academic family, being a high achiever herself, then marrying her husband who also came from a family of distinguished Cambridge Scientists, who like her parents had won Nobel prizes, it came as a great shock to find her son could hardly read and write as a child. Patience embarked on a lifetime devoted to helping children with Dyslexia and campaigning on their behalf.

Her very interesting life can be read in full in this link from the Times newspapers.https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/patience-thomson-obituary-wt3xs3jrw
