2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the start of Film Studies at Bradfield. To mark this milestone all former film students will be invited to a celebration event at the BFI Southbank on Friday, 15th September.
Over the past 20 years students have studied films ranging from ‘Vertigo’ to ‘Daisies’, from ‘Trainspotting’ to ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’. Every year they have crafted memorable short films and won national awards. Many familiar Bradfield settings have featured in these student films together with locations as diverse as Oxford, Manchester, Bournemouth, Hong Kong and Poland. Enrichment activities have included trips to Hollywood, Working Title, the London Film Festival, Ealing Studios, Rocket Pictures, mainstream and independent cinemas. The climax of every academic year is the prestigious BRAFTAs, a celebration of the very best of the students’ individual and collaborative work.
A large number of our students have gone on to study film and related subjects at University, many progressing into a variety of different roles in the Industry.
