Congratulations to recent leaver Lauren Bell (J 17-19) who put in a starring performance for Kia Super League side Southern Vipers on Finals Day at Hove.

Opening the bowling in her team’s semi-final against Loughborough Lightning, Lauren took 2-23 from her four overs, helping the Vipers to limit their opposition to 143 all out in 19.5 overs. Lauren claimed the prized wickets of Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu (LBW) and England wicketkeeper Amy Jones (bowled).

The Southern Vipers chased the total down with an over to spare to book a place in the final against Western Storm. Despite Lauren’s team posting a very competitive total of 172-7 in the final, an excellent knock from England captain Heather Knight took Western Storm to a six wicket victory.

Lauren showed that she can more than hold her own with the stars of the women’s game and the College is very proud of her performances.

In the men’s game, there continues to be Bradfield representation in the Second XI County Championship. Gus Atkinson (A 11-16) made 97 in the first innings of Surrey 2nd XIs game against Yorkshire 2nd XI in York. He followed this up with two catches in Yorkshire’s second innings as his side won by 92 runs.
