Dominic Murtagh (G 82-87) visits Bradfield from Shanghai
Dominic Murtagh (G 82-87), son of former SCR and A House Housemaster Paul Murtagh (1966-92), whilst over on holiday from Shanghai, recently visited Bradfield for a reminisce, and to show his wife where he spent his childhood, and the beauty of Bradfield.
After studying Music at Edinburgh University and teaching at Moray House, Dominic started teaching at Robert Clack School a secondary, mixed comprehensive in East London where he became Head of Music. 2007 saw the beginning of an International career, moving to Bermuda as Head of Music at Saltus Grammar School. From there in 2011 Dominic went on to St Francis College in São Paulo, Brazil as Director of Music, and since 2014 has been running an extensive Music Programmes as Head of Primary Music at YK Pao School in Shanghai where he met his wonderful wife Lisa. Lisa was a Mandarin teacher at YK Pao School for 10 years and has just become Deputy Headmistress at a new bilingual school in Shanghai - The Ivy School.
Dominic and Lisa’s next stop is France, to spend the last week of their holiday with his father and mother, who have lived in France since 2004.
Dominic and Lisa thoroughly enjoyed their visit - "Thank you for a fantastic day. Bradfield has certainly changed since I was fortunate enough to live there - the scope of opportunities available to students today is nothing short of amazing. It is just as beautiful as when I left. Lots of fond memories...."
