The earliest labelled photograph of The Close in the College Archive seemed to be 1981, however this photograph of The Close looked to be older.

I am thrilled to confirm that we now know that this photograph is The Close in 1977 and that Matthew Clark (H, 72-77) is seated on a chair second from the right and remembers most of the names in that second row.
