Alasdair Johnston (A 55-60) and his brother Hamish (A 53-57) were both in A House in July 1957 when this photograph was taken. Mr Stibbe was the Housemaster at the time and Michael Chapman (A 52-57) was Head of House.
They accepted the challenge to try to name everyone and have done a great job with a little help from their friends. Nicknames such as "Herbie", "Haggis" and "Worzel" have also been suggested and we now need your help to name the final few unknown faces on the picture above and below. John George said of the photo "An interesting photo , I must say we all look mighty glum not a smile anywhere."
If you can help please let us know who you can remember in the annotated photograph below.
Also, Michael is coming to the London Lunch this year on Friday 17 May and would love to see any other contemporaries at the lunch if you can make it. We hope you will join us and to register the link to the lunch is here
Thank you to everyone for your help so far including: Alasdair and Hamish Johnston, John George, Peter Odell, Terence Brack, Michael Lurie, Michael Pash, Jonathan Clark, Michael Joy, Jonathan Welfare, Roger Plaskett, Christopher Tomlins, Charles Clark, Angus Trent.
