2026 Leavers

Commemoration on Saturday was filled with many moments of emotion, reflection and pride, including speeches, award presentations and some wonderful performances of music and dance. It was a beautiful way to reflect on the academic year just gone, and celebrate pupil achievements across the College most especially the 2026 Leavers, to whom Bradfield Head, Jeremy Quartermain, had the below message...

'Carry with you a commitment to authenticity. In a world increasingly shaped by artifice and hyperreality, take time to embrace life’s simple wonders; the first shoots of spring, or the joy of swimming in a lake on a summer’s day. Live in the ‘here and now’ and be truly present for the most significant moments of your life. Put down your devices and commit to squeezing as much out of life as possible. Enjoy attending concerts and going to the theatre. Keep playing sports and spend as much time outdoors as humanly possible. Be adventurous and take risks. Be ambitious, not only for yourselves, but for those around you. Never stop caring about the things that matter to you. Challenge injustice and be careful custodians of our planet. It might not seem like it now, but the future of humanity really is in your hands.

And so, as you leave, I offer you the words of a traditional Irish blessing:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rain fall softly upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
