We were delighted to welcome Jess Raja-Brown (K 13-18) back to Bradfield yesterday evening to adjudicate entrants from both Bradfield and the Kennet School in the school heat of the ARTiculation Prize.
Having studied IB at Bradfield and Jess studied History of Art at the University of Cambridge before completing an MA in Curating Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art. She current works at the National Portrait Gallery in Development as well as teaching History of Art for the charity 'Art History'.
The ARTiculation Prize invites 16 to 19 year olds to deliver ten minute presentations about a work of art, architechture or an artefact. Jess had the tough task on her hands comparing the pupil interpretations, with artwork selected ranging from Banksy's recent Royal Courts of Justice piece to Shirazeh Houshiary's 'Swerve' and Caravaggio's 'The Flagellation of Christ'.
This event is a wonderful example of the partnership activities that exist between the Kennet School and Bradfield College.
Many thanks to Jess for her support in this event and many congratulations to all the pupils who participated for their fascinating and perceptive presentations.
