Nickie Greenfield nee Stacey (J 92-94) returns as a parent

When Nickie returned to Bradfield for the 175 celebrations she really felt that returning to Bradfield felt like receiving a ‘warm hug’ and so was excited when her daughter Matilda was keen to transfer to Bradfield for Sixth Form having attended a local state school… and her son is keen to follow ‘they were both blown away, especially by the St Andrews Library’. Matilda started Bradfield this September;

‘Matilda has settled into Bradfield life with supreme ease, keen to make the most of everything that the College has to offer. Alongside A level studies is Computer Science, Design and Business for A-level she has signed up for clay shooting as well as target shooting - which she is loving - as well as Horse riding and CCF.  She is also interested in doing her Gold DofE.  She has also resumed piano lessons having taken a break to focus on GCSE studies last year.

For Nickie, this is all very reminiscent of her time at Bradfield, where she loved every minute;

‘I studied Chemistry, Physics and Maths A-levels and then went on to Bath to study Natural Sciences. I really enjoyed the shooting at Bradfield but I also competed on the first Bradfield Interschools Show Jumping team which was fun! I took a gap year after graduating to get my BHS teaching qualifications for horse riding.  The year turned into 16 years running a livery yard, competing and teaching, so I really followed my passion’

Nickie still volunteers as a Scout leader and runs NSRA Youth Proficiency Scheme air rifle courses for Scouts. With pedigree like this the Bradfield Society was keen to encourage Nickie to establish contact with the OB Shooting Club. Hopefully we will see both mother and daughter shooting for their respective College and Alumni teams in the near future...

It’s really great when the Bradfield relationship comes a full circle 😊
