We are delighted to share that at 0605 on 1st October Adam Reed (H 97-02) successfully reached the Uhuru Summit of Kilimanjaro at 5895m it is Africa's highest point and the world's highest freestanding mountain...
'After a gruelling 6hrs in the dark having left base camp at midnight we made the summit just as the sun was rising. ️ This was a gruelling week of hiking, the final 2 days of descent were brutal. Through the various environments from rainforest up to alpine desert the mountain never failed to deliver on majesty and awe. Even with wildfires on the other slopes we were lucky with the conditions, though it was incredibly windy at times, smoke and dust got into the lungs and every crack!'
Adam is completing this challenge to raise money for the London Ambulance Charity and MS Society UK. 💚🧡
